We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Cafe' Chef to join our team. If you have a love for culinary arts and a dedication to continuous improvement, this is an excellent opportunity for you. As the Café Chef, you will play a vital role in food preparation, quality control, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Production:
- Prepare and create food items daily according to recipes and instructions
- Coordinate tasks with the café supervisor and team members to meet production needs
- Estimate daily production requirements based on function sheets and maintain quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
- Ensure proper cooking and sufficient testing of food items
- Set up and break down work stations
- Serve food in appropriate portions and receptacles
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area
Quality Control:
- Maintain the highest levels of food quality, preparation, and presentation
- Follow standard procedures and policies related to food preparation, storage, and safety
- Conduct regular checks on food expiry dates and ensure proper storage practices
Requirements:
- Full right to work in Australia
- Availability from Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm
- Passion for food and creativity
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift objects
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of standard recipes, menus, and food-handling procedures
- Compliance with required food handling and sanitation certifications
- Familiarity with ordering processes
